October 27th, 2010 | Category: art therapy programs

Art therapy is my passion, it is the career path i want to follow, its going to be my personal way of making a difference. I am currently living in Texas and I am searching for a school here in Texas so I can be close to my family, I have done plenty of research, but I am having a difficult time finding a school that specializes or even a school that has the program I am looking for. If someone could please PLEASE help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You.

Does a BA in jewelry or photography quaify one to enter a Master's program in Art Therapy?

October 16th, 2010 | Category: art therapy programs

I looked into a few colleges that offer an Art Therapy Master’s Degree. On the websites it claims that program prequisites are Bachelor’s degree in Art, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Science or a related field. I have taken several studio art and psychology courses, and I would like to work in some type of art therapy related field, but I’m more interested in jewelry making and photography, then painting or drawing. Would this qualify me to go for the Master’s Degree in Art Therapy?

I want to get my masters in art therapy, but would I still be able to get my doctorate in clinical psychology?

October 06th, 2010 | Category: art therapy programs

Art therapy is counseling psychology, and well I am interested in that, but I would like to go more of the route of research and testing. So I’m wondering if I would still be able to do my doctorate in clinical psychology if I only do a masters in art therapy or if I would have to do a double major for my masters to be accepted into the clinical psychology program.

Can anyone help me?
