What are the education requirements for the art therapy field? Are there any programs in Atlanta, Georgia?

I currently have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I reside in Atlanta and cannot leave the state for family reasons. I was told that I can go back to school and get a masters in psychology or sociology. SCAD has none credit classes but I need to get in a program that gives academic credit.

Art therapy is highly specialized; I fear that cobbling together an art and a psych degree won’t quite work. Try visiting the career development office of your university, or a nearby community college if your former alma mater is too far away. They can help you find if any nearby colleges offer an MA program in art therapy, or if there are any online degrees that you might pursue.
