I am currently working on my BA in art education in maryland. I would like to get my masters in art therapy, so would it be best to move to the state I can get me MA in and start teaching there? Will my degree from MD hold up in another state?

New York is one of the best states to teach in and it also has the most schools with AATA Approved Graduate Degree Programs (that’s American Art Therapy Association). Your BA will hold up in any state but you will need to get your teacher’s certification in NY to teach there. Most states accept NY certification, but NY doesn’t accept most other states’. You would definitely benefit from getting your certification and art therapy degree in NY. Best wishes!!
