Saudi Art Pioneers:Saudi Art Therapy العلاج بالفن التشكيلي
Art has become one of the methods of recovery and treatment. Art Therapy is a kind of psychological treatment when patient draws or forms in his own way which express psychological or physical emotions within that have a negative impact on his life and aspire to be changed to reach spiritual purity and self-satisfaction .. Art is an expression of emotions and senses internal and external whether expressed through drawing or through other fields of art such as colleagues, clay, and other hand work. Dr. Awad Mubarak AlYami, Associate Professor of Art Education at King Saud University, a leading art therapy specialist in Saudi Arabia and an active member American Society of Art Therapy, and licensed art therapist. He holds a doctorate in art therapy from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. He received the first license in Art Therapy from the Saudi Ministry of Health in 2000. Works in several health and educational institutions, and he worked in a number of educational and medical institutions. He conducted several treatment activities within and outside the Kingdom. One of his greatest accomplishment is establishing the Art Therapy Unite at King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh (where the movie was filmed) to be the first such treatment clinic in the country.

أصبح الفن أسلوبا من أساليب الشفاء والعلاج، فالعلاج بالفن التشكيلي هو نوع من العلاج النفسي يقوم فيه المراجع بالرسم أو التشكيل بطريقته الخاصة معبرا عما بداخله من انفعالات نفسية أو بدنية لها تأثير سلبي على حياته ويصبو إلى تغييرها ليصل إلى الصفاء الروحي والشعور بالرضا عن النفس…. وما الفن إلا تعبيرا عن الاحاسيس والانفعالات الداخلية والخارجية سواء أكان ذلك التعبير عن طريق الرسم أم عن طريق مجالات الفن الأخرى كالكولاج والصلصال والأعمال اليدوية الأخرى. و الدكتور عوض مبارك اليامي أستاذ التربية الفنية المشارك بجامعة الملك سعود، رائد مسيرة العلاج بالفن التشكيلي بالمملكة عضو عامل في الجمعية الأمريكية للعلاج بالفن التشكيلي بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وهو معالج بالفن التشكيلي – حاصل على الدكتوراه في العلاج بالفن التشكيلي من جامعة ولاية بنسلفانيا في عام 1995. وحصل على أول ترخيص مزاولة العلاج بالفن التشكيلي من وزارة الصحة السعودية عام 2000. عمل في عدة مؤسسات صحية وتعليمية. وقام بعدة نشاطات فنية وعلاجية داخل وخارج المملكة ؛ ومن أهم انجازاته تأسيس وحدة العلاج بالفن التشكيلي بمدينة الملك فهد الطبية بالرياض (حيث تم تصوير هذا الفيلم) لتكون أول عيادة متخصصة في هذا المجال بالمملكة.
